The 2002 Shudo-Kan Invitational Tournament proved to be a very good medal haul for the club with two Grand Champions in kumite, and some good places in kata as well.
Hosted by sensei Doug Dennis, 6th dan Shito-ryu, the event was well run and attended.
Everybody enjoyed them selves on the whole, apart from some unruly parents who didn't agree with some of the judges decisions in the kumite, it's a pity some of the parents don't take a leaf out of their children's books and learn to accept the judges final word.
Sensei Thompson presenting some state awards to members of the Shotokan Karate Club of Pawnee. Robbie Boarman with his Championship medal in kumite.
Drew Thompson (headgear) mixing it up with the competition in kumite. Dylan Grant, Michael Barnes, and Drew Thompson receive 2nd place in team kata.

There was going to be some in depth commentary on this picture - but I think ''oooff '' says it all.
